People in pictures with cars

Why do people get their picture taken with cars that they spot? I've never understood this. I'm assuming that since you want a picture of the car, then you are a car enthusiast, so why put yourself in the picture obscuring the view of the car?

Seems pretty normal to me. Maybe if he's in front of the car in multiple pictures, but I think we've all posed in front of an exotic or took a pic of a friend doing so. If you're that hard up for an unmolested Bugatti picture, I'm sure there's 1000+ wallpaper pictures on the net.
