think about what a shotgun does vs. a pistol. A pistol fires one shell at a time and you have to specific in your aim to hit something (i.e. get a "favorable" response to your action).

A shotgun fires one shell containing tens of smaller "shells" that spread out so you only have to point in the general direction of the target to get a "favorable" response to your action.

Ever met anyone at work (or life in general) who has a habit of asking several people to do the same thing in the hopes that one of them does it? That would be taking the "shotgun" approach to getting something done. BTW, anyone who takes that approach is normally not thought of very well at all.

at firs i thought it was a huge BMW conspiracy and they wirelessly activated rattle creaters all over the world to drive bmw drivers crazy and crasht e stock markets
