I could use some help with Barbera Red

I will be meeting with my SA in about 2 weeks to order my 335i coupe for either late March ED or Late May US delivery. I have been in a quandary over the color selection because I really don't like any of the colors that much EXCEPT Black and I won't do that again( after the 5th black car I finally will listen to my own advice) If i could get it(which I don't believe that I can) I would order either Imola Red or Indianapolis Red. But since I can't get those, I was going to order Crimson Red even though it was not my favorite red. My Audi S4 is Brilliant Red and I compared it to the Crimson and Imola and found the Crimson to be somewhere between the Brilliant and Imola. But still not a real fan of the Crimson. Now to my real point. Has anyone actually seen Barbera in person? I have seen pictures posted on this forum and others on the net. I know that the configuer does not do justice to the color. To me from the pictures, Barbera looks VERY dark maroon when not in the sun but shows red and purple highlights in the direct sun. My concern is that the color will look TOO dark. I don't know how often my dealer will have a 6 or 7series in Barbera come through to look at. Any help will be appreciated. TIA

From what I could tell when I saw a 335i in Crimson, it looked really, really close to Imola. Maybe I just don't get your tastes, but how do you rule out Crimson, and then consider Barbera? I mean Barbera, to me, is going to make the car look way too conservative. It just reminds me of a color I'd see on Chrysler or a Buick.

Since I have never seen Barbera in person, I am actually afraid that it WILL look like my father's in law Buick. If this is the case, I don't want it. BTW, I didn't think that the Crimson was that close to Imola in person. But closer than Barbera for sure!

The first pic (the "pink" one) is not Barbera it is Chiaretto (sp?) red which came on the later e39 M5s, the 6 and 7 series. The later pics are Barbera red which looks pretty nice to me.

I don't think the above photo is Barbera Red. It looks more like Chiaretto Red (which is no longer available on the 6 or 7). Barbera is darker and better represented in the other photos in this thread.

FWIW, I think Barbera will look awesome on the 3 series. Here's a comparison photo of the BMW Reds.

The crimson E92 in the photo above comparing all 4 red colors is my car. Before I bought it, I compared a sample of crimson to imola and they are very close; the crimson being the same tone, just a touch lighter.

Based on these pictures, I'm afraid that the Barbera is somewhat darker than I would like. (Even though I am over 55) . I think that I will go with the Crimson. Thanks everyone for your help and opinions.
