Can I disable

1. ...the feature on the key fob that lowers the windows and sunroof if I hold the unlock/lock buttons down long enough? **I woke up this morning to my 335i Coupé with the windows down and sunroof open! Glad I have a garage**

2. ... the guy's voice in the iDrive? I want the girls voice in the navigation talking to me; not some high pitched guy.

I've read through the manual and don't see either anywhere. That, or I'm can't read...

don't want to thread jack but i've searched... WTF is a key "FOB" What does the FOB stand for?.. I don't get it why people dont just use they word key. IF FOB stands for key, what's the purpose of adding more to the typing... Key fob????

SOrry did just quick.

You sure that you actually held the button down for the windows to open and it's not some sort of a malfunction? Just throwing out a possibility

This has happened so many times before where someone and somehow the windows and sunroof opened by mistake. Go get yourself one of those key holders by the door or in the garage and that will be solved. I'm guessing you would need a really smart person or comtuer geek if you will ( no harm given) to change the voice. I'm sure there is a way. Good Luck!

In accounting "FOB" is "Free On Board" meaning the shipper doesn't pay charges for delivery. I know, I know...Off Topic.

The term "fob" in the usage on this forum is really incorrect. The item we've been calling a "fob" is really the key since it is used to identify authorized operators of a vehicle. Correctly, a fob is an ornament attached to a fob chain (gee, never thought about putting it there). An alarm remote that attaches to a keyring would qualify for the term "fob" as would a flat leather or plastic flap with a company logo.

But best of luck in changing everyone's habit. If you started referring to your "fob" as a "key", everyone would be going, "what's he talking about?" (OK, maybe not everybody).

EXACTLY... I'm reading many posts and people are like my key fob, fob this and fob that.. And i'm thinking, wth are they talking about about. Are they talking about their key??? I though a key fob was something that ATTACHES TO THE CHEAIN. And after reading the link that was posted above, i'm right. people here on the board refer to their key as "key fob".. first your key is not a fob unless your talking about something attached to the key ring... and 2nd since you are refering to your key, why not just call it key and avoid adding extra text or word. it's like saying "my car automobil is now in the...." "or "check out my car automobile"??

I hope it's not a malfunction! That would piss me off! I'm about to go outside and check since it's about to rain.

I have a guy's voice for everything but navigation (girl's voice). I was hoping there's a way to change that.

Personally, give me Samuel L. Jackson. That would be a trip!

FOB could be "Fresh Off the Boat" which it kinda is being 1 week old.. but... hehe

I'm paranoid it's a malfunction now... I had an earlier issue where I started the car and I couldn't get any sound or my voice command to work.. had to power off for about 20s and power on... it's ok now.

Do a search, I know a few people had this same thing happen with their E90s. I can't remember if it turned out to be a malfunction or not.

IMO it should be a malfunction. I know not everyone park their E90/E92s in a secure garage. Some probably park it in a parking structure or on the street, if the windows and moonroof would suddenly roll down by itself, that would be a very dangerous problem.

What are you talking about? I don't think I've heard my car say anything except for the Nav. What other feature talks?

All the other voice command requests and confirmations are in a guy's voice. The girl voice is only when I'm using the navigation menu... guessing no dice on changing it huh? D@mnit!
