Just got a new 2010 BMW 328i xDrive :(
Kinda bummed tho.
Blk/Blk. HID xenons. Base model. Brand new. Only 28 miles. NO SUNROOF/MOONROOF Leased. 3yr/10,000 per yr. $500 down. $480 per month. I feel ripped off tho. I think I could have gotten him to come down in price especially for such a stripped down model. What you guys think?? Also, anyone think I can get an aftermarket sunroof? or even a non-electric moonroof? Any feedback would be appreciated! Love this forum! |

I would stay far away from an aftermarket hole in the roof.....just my opinion. As for your monthly payments...I have no idea...I don't do leases. Welcome to e90post!

Why didn't you get a sunroof in the first place? Or buy used if you couldn't afford a new one with options?

Sounds like they knocked about 6k off msrp depending on the sales tax included. I wouldn't recommend doing any permanent mods to a leased car.
I don't have the sunroof in mine, but I'm tall and never really used it when I had one. If it's that important, you probably shouldn't have leased that specific car. If it isn't, then take the money you'll save with this lease and use it to fly to Germany to pick up your custom built car with a sunroof in 3 years. |

A no sunroof/moonroof is a good roof. Less top heavy weight, more headroom. People used to pay good money for sunroof delete in Porsche 911s. I paid a premium to have a no sunroof 993 a while back, it was a rare find.
fwiw, I have a panorama roof on my E63 AMG. I hate it. It's just a novelty that puts weight in the wrong place, up top. |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Hey thanks for the feedback.
I was looking for a 2010 model and that was the only one that was blk on blk, which is what I was looking for. I can afford more but dont want to. Im kinda cheap like that. They dropped the price from $41k to $36k bc it was a year old. Although my warranty starts now. Ill probably end up purchasing the car at the end of the lease bc I know Ill be waaaayyyy over on mileage. The purchase price in 3 yrs will be $23k. Hopefully I can negotiate that down some. I love the car tho!!!! I just wasnt sure if it was a good deal or not, sunroof or no sunroof. Thanks for all the feedback!! |

I am just going with my gut, but I would imagine putting in an aftermarket sunroof would be a major violation of your lease. People worry about putting in headlights, which is reversible, I would imagine filling in a giant hole in your roof is not as reversible.

If you KNOW you're going to be way over miles, why did you lease the car? Lease/buy is not ideal at all, you might as well buy it from the start. From someone with a leased E90 who drives 30k/year, trust me. Fortunately, I have a company car to drive also but it wasn't always like that. I'm a big proponent of leasing, but if you have no chance of staying within the miles, don't lease. Aside from that, the deal seems fine though. I don't think you got screwed, just a minor case of buyers remorse. A brisk drive through some twisties usually fixes that right up.
