How come DRLs bulbs burn out so easily?

I was wondering why our DRL bulbs (H8 for the angel eyes) burn out so easily.

I've noticed a lot of E9Xs, from 328 to M3s, where one of theirs is out...

I know the Audi LEDs tend to go out a lot

I know they're being used more than our headlights as they're on during the day as well as the night.

Could it also be caused by people who change theirs and then touch the bulb by accident? (like when they put LEDs like LUX and then go back to stock?)

Just always wondered but never thought to ask...

I know what you mean. I've always assumed it's because of the heat caused by the housing/H8 bulb. A BMW engine doesn't help either.

They only have a service live of xx amount of hours and the more vibration it is exposed to, the shorter the life.

They are on all of the time; I'd imagine that when they are run every time your car is on, they'd burn out more quickly.

I had mine burned out on my MKV jetta. I came to the conclusion that because of the multiple use, such as starting and shutting the car off one too many time per day, expedited the life of these bulbs. That is what I think is going on. Anybody else would like to share?

Are you sure the LEDs on the Audi you saw were dead? Or was it just trying to make a turn? The LED one on side will turn off when the turn signal is activated.

I've been going to the dealers a lot cause I've been looking at S4s and S5s and saw them

but the ones I've seen on the street weren't trying to turn

at first i thought it was out when trying to turn, i learned that mistake lol.

So for our cars, if someone touches the bulb, will it cause it to go our quickly?

or will it explode...
