Help: Front vibration at any speed after hitting debris
Hey guys.
So, I hit this thing on the freeway going about 55 mph. I tried to avoid it but still managed to hit it with my front left tire. I must say it sounded pretty intense. After visual inspection this is the only damage to the rim. The worse part is... From now on there is a weird vibration coming from the impact site. The vibration can be heard from any given speed from 10 mph to freeways speeds. The vibration goes on for 2 seconds then stops for 3 seconds. Then back again for 2 seconds then stops, and so on... My shop that I took the car to, can't seem to find the problem. They did an alignment, balanced the tire, and everything seems normal under the car. So they took it to my local BMW dealership where the car is at right now. The dealership is saying "Everything is normal and the cause of the vibration is that I need new back tires". I know my tires are bald but the vibration came on after the impact. So WTF do I do? Any suggestions... Could I have damaged the Axle or something? I don't understand why cant the dealership locate the freakin problem...

My shop fixed the rim so it looks like new now... But can there be internal damage of the rim?

Any wheel damage should have showed up when they balanced it though. If your tires are bald I would probalby go ahead and replace them and see what happens. Maybe there is some kind of internal damage to the tire, who knows.

Are you still running RFT tires? Could be something to do with the tire on the damaged rim...

+1 seems likely especially if ur tires are balding. I would replace the tires and see if it goes away. good luck sorry to hear about that.

So that's where my truck's passenger side strut is. I've been looking for it for years. Thanks. Shipping cost back to 80027? Do you take paypal? Please include my long lost cell phone pack as well.
P.S. Seriously sorry for your PIA.

Are you certain it didn't hit one of the rear wheels/suspension as well? Did you personally look at the suspension? I doubt its a bent wheel. (230s I see.) Did you get all 4 wheels rebalanced? Maybe they screwed up and a weight fell off/wasn't glued well to the wheel that was rebalanced.
