Non sport seats to sport seats problem
I just bought a 2007 335i that did not have the sport package and no idrive. I had access to a 2008 335i with sport seats and drive. So I yook the seats from the 08 and put them in my 07. The drivers side power seat worked but only the basic functions. The lumbar etc did not function. The passenger seat plugged in but none of the functions worked at all. It did not even move forward or back etc. I thought maybe I blew a fuse or something so I took the non sport seat that I just took out of the 07 and put it in the 08. That one didn't work either. So I put back the original seat and it worked again. Has anyone had luck putting sport seats in their car that did not have the sport package and did does not have idrive? Not sure if idrive makes a difference or not but they plug in fine. Maybe its a programming or wire harness issue. Can anyone give me a hand?

Sounds like a broken seat, will the sport seat function in the 08?
My car (07 335i E90) has the sport package with no idrive, so I'm positive that has nothing to do with it. |

check the pin outs.... see if the connector (probably molex) is the same... doubt it is.

Does your car have ZPP? Power lumbar adjustment is/was only availble with ZPP(premium pack) equipped cars. Maybe the wiring is different for non ZPP cars thus the reason the lumbar support adjustment isn't working?

I do no think I have the premium pack since I don't have Bluetooth, iPod adaptor, homelink etc. So that's probably why. I really hope the option is there and just have to swap harnesses.

look at the car's body harness connector and compare it to the seat harness connector. You will be able to see the number and type of wires coming from the seat harness vs the ones coming from the car harness. From there you'll be able to see which wires are missing or out of place and swap their positions as necessary.
Since you already have power seats, you can splice a wire to one of the power leads and hook it up to the appropriate spot on the seat harness to activate the lumbar supports. |
