I have a list of cars I did not buy.. this one sold at a dealership..

specs 2007 328xi 33k miles (Sport, Premium, CW, Xenons), CPO. Their bottom line price was 23.4k. They wouldn't hold it till the weekend though.. =/

so $22k w/ 45k miles for a non CPO probably isn't all that unreasonable..

There is a non sport 335i locally with like 54k miles for 19.9k
As always, those who own that type of car say "They sell for way higher" They can be found.
I haven't looked at it, but I have seen others near that price.

Pretty ambitious request considering your location (NY/NE) and combination you want:
E92 + XI + ZSP + CWP

Sport Pack is fairly common
Heated seats common in NE

Are you sure you want cold weather package with ski pass or would you be ok with the standalone heated seat package?

Are you ok with 6 speed manual transmission? You didn't specify?

What exactly is the Aero package on 07 cars? (do you mean aero front lip + Aero rear bumper?) if so, good luck with that.

Good luck with your request. It will happen eventually. Although, I would open your search to all color combinations.

There was 1 sold 3 weeks ago. 328xi, 46k miles with sport package, no nav. Asked $22k but sold at $20. Another 335i with sport, no nav, around 43k miles, asked 25k but sold at 23k, this was at least 2 months ago. Both came from original owners with clean Carfax.

Edit: These are cars from NY area. Keep looking, I'm sure you will find out. There are a bunch of idiots out there who think their cars still worth above 30k (looks at cars.com and you see what I mean). GL with that. Auction prices for these are every where. with 50k, they definitely will be less than 20k now. IMO though, if you are already spending 22k. Another 5k or so to get yourself a newer e92 with 40k miles or so would be well worth. Or else, just give it until the end of winter and get it for less than 20k.

I'm with the OP and have been saying the same thing since I first joined these boards. These cars are worth 19 - 23k for the sedans, and 19 - 25k for the coupe's (335i's). That's it. Owners can bitch and moan all they want but guess what, no one is buying them for the prices these private owners are asking.

You should all take a hint when dealerships are selling the cars for less than you guys are trying to sell them for.

What qualifies you to make this assessment? Seriously? I guess that should make 07+ 328 sedans $15k, 07+328 coupes $17k. You are joking, right? Owners dont need to give these cars away. Private sale @ $26+ is reasonable considering the BMW Pre-owned/certified network cars are listing at $30+. Have you been on a lot. Or are you a used-cars.net expert? Go check out them swirl mark machines on a real lot and tell me about quality. BMW is known to purge their crappy lease end inventory at second rate auctions. Besides you also get to know the history of the car when buying from an adult 1 owner. 07's under 50k are still under orig manufacturer warranty and new owners can usually opt into extended program.

BTW jpuff, How is your $20k 335 search coming?

GL OP, but IMHO a few extra grand will open up your world to many more purchasing opportunities (loaded 328's and nice equipped 335's).

yeap.. 22k with under 50k milage with those packages is alittle tough to find even for a 328i coupe. I bought mine 7 months ago for 26.2k certified-preowned from a dealer with 33k miles. So, I think about 23-24 is fair for what you're looking for?

I have been to every dealership locally...The normally don't have any coupes on the lot (they tell me coupes are harder to find...Understandable, but not one?! Come on) and the sedans are poorly equipped. In a sedan I NEED sports package - It's a necessity. The people at the dealerships are trying to convince me that it's not a big deal but they don't realzie that I will not buy a sedan unless it has sports package...I now have around 25k available so that should help a little but again I'm looking for xi's only (I've found a few i's but I need AWD)

The most recent one I found was a n 07 328xi sedan with 24k miles without Sport Package but it had premium package and Cold weather package for 24,000 from a dealer CPO'd until 2013...I just NEED sports package (in my opinion it feels like a TOTALLY different car)

What qualifies me? The same thing that qualifies anyone who's been searching for a car for 1 month. I've seen what everyone else is selling cars for. The problem is you idiots are all too stubborn to realize your cars aren't worth what you paid for them or even half that because guess what, the economy is in the garbage and BMW has since released about 4 newer models including a new engine.

My search is going great, I've passed on about 5 or 6 cars already (I'm looking for a sedan) because I haven't been able to find a manual. Everything I've seen has been under 40k miles, warrantied until at least june 2011, and equipped with sports package, premium, comfort, etc... all for under or right around 20k. Unfortunately, the majority of car drivers these days are enormous girls and the number of 6 speeds on sedans is really low. I might have to get a coupe instead but that's probably okay because since I started looking, I've seen a lot of coupe's go down to 23 - 25k. Whine and bitch about it all you want, it won't change the prices that others (specifically dealers, which is sad) are offering.

downfall, do a really quick search on cars.com or autotrader, you'll find TONS of 335i sedans that are under 23k and are fully equipped with less than 50k miles.

The notion that buying from a BMW dealership means getting a better quality product is ridiculous and anyone who actually believes that deserves to get ripped off.

if you buy a car from a dealer, you're paying finance charges. also if you walk into a dealer and say you want to pay cash, they'll charge you $2000 more for the car because dealer's make their profit from people who finance. this is why private owner prices are $2000 more than dealer prices. i know because it's happened to me and i've walked away numerous times.

xi's only as stated previously...And I'm not saying it's better quality (which in most cases CPO is)...I'm saying It comes with an additional warranty on top of the warranty the 07's came with and now the special is 2.9% financing for 60 months

I'm not talking CPO, I'm talking about the notion that buying from a dealer in general is a better idea. The cars listed though are all under warranty til 50k or 4 years (most still have 1+ years left on warranty), and you can always buy CPO if you're buying from original owner.
