Removed E90 325 resonator
not too much all of a difference in sound, but makes the "dead spot" less noticiable, and MIGHT sound just a bit deeper. i got it done for 60 dollars at a local muffler shop. i mean, is it worth it? not sure. Driv3r did it with his eisenmann and said it made it sound A LOT better. mine, with the stock muffler did not sound A LOT better, rather A LITTLE different (in a better way). i definetly like the new sound over the old(if any difference). i will put up a sound clip sometime tonight.
that sucker must weight a good 15lbs! SOUND CLIP!!:: Last edited by ScheerSpeed; 01-18-2007 at 07:19 PM.. |

wat did driv3r exactly do with his eisenmann resonator delete???
i have eisenmann race and i dun wanna spend on SR pipes, so i was wondering if i could do wat driv3r did? is all he did was remove the resonator, or did he also go with bigger piping???? i would basically wanna do wat he did |

he did the same thing i did, cut out the resonator and put straight pipes in it (same diameter) man, i was in his car tonightm and it sounds SICK! i thouhgt it sounded good with just the eisnemann race muffler, but now it sounds much more throaty, and sometimes pops when you decelerate. we tried to make sound clips, but his camera sucks. |

i would wanna do the same thing so its just a resonator delete and replace that space with straight pipes huh, something my local mufflers shop coould prob do cuz i was not satisfied wit my race exhaust from eisenmann, not loud enough, and i cudnt afford SR pipes... how much did this cost driv3r (delete resonator and add pipes, also install)??? also, u said do the same diameter? that one guy, ck1129, deleted his resonator as well, but went with a bit larger diameter piping bcuz he said its supposed to be louder as u go bigger piping??? iono, i just want the BEST sound i can achieve if i remove the resonator. so u say stick with same size piping, and the difference will be a lot better than before huh? i really did hear earlier, that if u went with bigger piping, that it would be major loud. iono though thanks bro |

i dont know, but we went to the same place and charged us 60 dollars for the whole deal. a local muffler shop was where we went, and they just got a sawzall and cut it out, and then welded in some other pipes (mine were a bit smaller than wht there used to be, maybe thats y i didnt notice a big change?)

maybe... ive just heard that the diameter of the piping changes the sound somehwat
hmm.... i wanna ask driv3r now wat all he got done, to make his exhaust sound all that bad ass i hope he replies on this thread, cuz i know he deleted his resonator but i wanna know wat kinda piping specs he used to replace that space of the resonator taht used to be there. if he went with the same size piping as before, than thats really good results with sound. and so if he got that kinda sound with the same size piping, then if i deleted my resonator as well but went with a bit larger piping, than i might achieve even louder sound. maybe just a bit louder than driv3r's but im not gonna get that loud ricer sound. DRIV3R... where u at???? EDIT: lol i was typing this message as u posted ur comment before hehe |

driv3r, after they deleted ur resonator, wat size piping did they use to replace that space??? was it the same size piping as the pipes they connected it with? or did u go bigger? cuz i wana know if i could go w/ a bit bigger piping than u did, as ck1129 said in an earlier thread of his, taht its possible to go wit bigger piping to acheive greater sound.
also, u said u might later remove the post cats.... do u think i could do that along with the resonator delete im gonna do, i wanna the rest of my exhaust modifications at once... would this affect the sound even more? |

ye dont worry, it wont get too ricey
i just wasnt satisifed at all wit the race exhaust itself, and even if i remove the resonator, i would prob still want a bit more. but driv3r brought it to my attention that i could also remove the post cats so i MIGHT just keep the piping the same size, as he did, if ur saying that the sound was really that loud, and remove the post cats instead...however i would need more info on that, and if it would really help. but just imagine if i removed resonator, a bit bigger piping than driv3rs, and also remove post cats... not to mention rep gruppe m intake i have on order. im going for a major sound change lol. |

Warranty will only be voided if the dealer can prove that removing the resonator caused something to break, (I.E. if your radio breaks, it will be covered, but if your engine blows or something...well who knows....i kept my resonator because when i turn in the lease or if something does break i will put it back on.

Will a resonator delete fail an emission check in California? I already have the eisenmann race exhaust. Thanks.
