static when GPS is plugged in

Hey I'm getting a small amount of static through the speakers when I plug my gps into the ashtray power adapter. it's a really high pitched but fairly quiet static. Any ideas?

for me whenever i plug in my phone charger to my phone while listening to the radio, the quality of the radio signal diminished noticeably. As soon as i unplug the phone it goes back to normal. weird
