Weird problem with 335. Any insight is appreciated.

Last night I was driving home from work, and at a red light the car was almost stalling, and was vibrating pretty good. I could see the shifter vibrating. When I revved the gas, the car bogged alot and the car shook. I had a noticable reduction in power.

However, no check engine light went on. It was not in limp mode. I pulled in the garage, and opened the hood. The engine was shaking a bit when revving it. I shut it off and went in.

This morning the car was normal and fine. What do you think that was? I'm thinking injector problem or fuel pump. Since theres no codes, should I bring it in to the dealer? Thanks.

Taking a wild stab, HPFP. Bring it to the dealer.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Yeah I'd say injectors or pump. It's really amazing what it takes to throw a code due to those issues these days; I'm wondering if one of their software "fixes" toned down the sensitivity of the throwing of codes. I had some prolonged (20-30 seconds) violent starts, with revs fluctuating from 2500 all the way down to 400 or below, with violent shaking, almost stalling, etc... And still no codes. Took it to the dealer. Of course, no codes, couldn't duplicate. Lo and behold, the day after I got it back from them, it did it worse than it ever had before, but this time (thankfully?) I got limp mode too. So, I drove straight to the dealer and showed them (ended up being the HPFP again, imagine that....). Only then could they justify the work to BMWNA. It wasn't their fault really, but it seems to me like they've desensitized the error triggers.

I just read another thread with similar problem and they said gas might have leaked from the injectors and was mirfiring until it burned off. Could this have happened to me? It is cold here in PA these days too. I wish it would have thrown a code.

i had the same problem and immediately brought it to the dealership. I ended up having two bad fuel injectors. Thank goodness for the warranty.
