Turbos replaced (pic)

Cars currently in the shop, i had an engine malfunction light took it to the shop, they made a Puma case and bmw told them to replace the turbos because there was some play in them or something( i had the wastegates actuators replaced about 15k ago ... How does a Turbo cause a eninge malfunction light on? Is there anything else the dealer needs to replace such as Injectors or something along those lines when also replacing the turbos?

i went to the dealer to see how it was going, hears a pic of the old turbo

Just so you know, your vehicle falls under the lawsuit against BMW. This problem happens to a lot of people here! Good Luck!

After the engine light came on, did you notice any abnormal smell coming from the exhaust? I am little concerned because my car just had an engine light warning on, and had absolutely no power. And my exhaust smelled weird, sort of like a semi-burnt smell.

Car had 48k miles on it

Nah, the car didn't smell any different, but the exhaust note sounded much different

most if not almost all BMW service centers have the same tile floors in them...kind of a BMW standard thing. As for the size of the snails...they are tiny...just look big due to the picture and the fact the exhaust manifold is built on...

I just had this happen today!! Anyone else have this happen? I think it just over heated but there was a funny smell coming from it. Sorry for the
