Considering they're NOT HID/xenon headlights and are just projector lenses with corona rings around them, I wouldn't say it's great value.

So do some cars have a projector with a holgen bulb behind them?

I always assumed that if a car had the lense on the lights it would have Xenons...

Yeah, my wife's old A4 avant had Halogen projectors.
Even golden oldies (my buddies Golf Rallye) has them.

Projectos doesn't automatically equate to xenons.

How do the Corona Rings work on a setup like this. On our 1 series with Xenons the Corona Rings work by selecting the daytime running lights option on the onboard computer. Our 3 series doesnt give this option.

They are on when you select the side lights or main beams. Off when lights are fully off.

But you can get your key recoded to make them run during the day... BW chiptune for instance..

I've been looking at something like this since I bought my e90 a few weeks ago
I installed a similar one on my previous e46 and I have to say it is the best mod to do if you have halogens. There's canbus hid kits on ebay (cheapest I saw was £50) that you can install and it will be a complete setup
Not sure what brand that one is but I know DEPO's are the ones to get.
let us know if you get one
