Ipod Question

Hi All,

Im trading my 320i M sport for a 320D M sport tomorrow due to continuing issues that cannot be fixed to my satisfaction, the new car has a USB connector and I was just wondering do you need to buy a BMW ipod cable to get tracking listing etc or will a normal Ipod cable plus a stereo jack cable do the same job.

Hi .... I think if you are just using an iPod then the standard cable that comes with it will just plug into your USB and play your music with no need for any other cables. Tracks/albums and other data will show on your screen as you require. When I updated to an iPhone was when I needed the BMW cable.

Only models previous to Sept 2010 needed the Y cable. After that (model year 2011) only the standard ipod usb cable is needed. You got some information in threads at the general forum about this.

Cheers for the replies, just phoned the dealer and he said he would through a cable in for me anyway so not an issue now.

baragin! good result, not cheap either then Y-cables if you buy an original one from the dealer
