No more front PDC on 2011 E90 even w/o M Sports Package?

I was just looking at some dealer inventory and it appears that some 2011 E90's don't have the front PDC, but has the rear even though it does not have the M Sports Package (since M Sports only comes with rear PDC). Is this a change for later 2011 models or is there a factory mistake?

Never heard of front PDC on E90.
Sports/Non-Sports/M-sports, never mattered I think?

PDC was an added standalone option or now part of convenience package.
Only Rear, no front.

The front PDC started to be available from the 2009 E90's onwards, and that is what I have. I know that if you get M Sports Package, it is available with only the rear PDC. But the ones I saw did not have M Sports Package, but had the Convenience Package, and it only had the rear PDC, but not the front.

Only because it looks so cool on the NAV display screen...!

To answer the question though...by default the conv. pack offers rear PDC only. To get front PDC, you need to click an additional box which then adds FPDC as a no cost option. This changes the option from ""507 Rear only" to "508 PDC alternate option".

You must be sure your CA clicks on the additional PDC option to get both F&R PDC!

If you go to BMW NA "Build your own" website, select 3 series, go to package selection, select Conv. package, then look at PDC options...you will see what I am talking about.

^^This is correct^^

My CA ticked it and my Order Production Sheet shows "508", there was no extra charge so I said why not get it. It is part of the conven pkg you can opt for just the rear or both front and rear.

Front and rear PDC is free on all 2011 E90s.

It's called eyes.

Some people have no depth perception. I'm one of them, even though both my eyes are fine individually, I have no "stereo"/3D vision. As a result, when I'm pulling up to a car/wall, sure I have a general sense of how far away it might be, but I have to be really cautious because I can't tell the difference between a foot and a couple inches. I have a tennis ball hanging in my garage to mark the ideal spot for my 328 (hits the windshield).

I rarely have to parallel park or pull up tight against a wall/fence, but I could see enjoying front PDC if I lived in an urban area.

+1. My CA originally checked 507 and I had to correct it to 508 before my car went to production. Got my Sept build 2011 with both front and rear PDC just fine. FWIW in Europe the front PDC costs significant extra money, I have no idea why it costs the same in the US whether you get the front ones or not.

This issue of having to specify the front PDC appears to only be true for the E90, not the E92 coupe or E93 convertible. If you go through the "build your own" web site for these other models there's only one option for PDC, and both the website and brochure indicate that PDC is for both front and rear.

It's really helpful for parallel parking. Other than that, not much good.

Interestingly enough - it's omitted on M Sport, but you can get the performance bumper with PDC... That's messed up.

It also upsets me that PDC IS available on the front in the e92 MSport

No lovin' for our e90s
