Did anyone notice this before? (Calif.) Emissions + HPFP Warranty..

Just curious; saw this while looking at 3 series pron.

Granted, it's kinda useless now since they have an open recall, and some model years have the HPFP warranty extended already, but just wondering if anyone who was out of the new car warranty was turned down for warranty work on the HPFP -- not realizing it carries a factory warranty that goes beyond the rest of the new vehicle warranty..

I knew they had extended it for certain 335's, but was curious if [prior to the extension] anyone had to pay out of pocket to get the HPFP replaced because they were out of the new vehicle warranty period.

It appears as though as of two weeks ago, BMW made a voluntary recall to replace the HPFP:

Think this fixes everything? (I'm on the fence about buying a 335i)

It is amazing how people read what they want to read. The recall is for a software update and/or a HPFP replacement. BMW will not replace the HPFP unless your pump is exhibiting problems that aren't resolved by the update.
