LCI Headlights

Ok I did some searching and didnt really find anything other than installs. But what in the world is the difference between my 2007 HID headlights and and the new LCI ones? The reason I ask is I have a 335i e90 and have upgraded my angel eyes to led bulbs to get the color I wanted. And my car is currently in the shop so they gave me a e92 328 loander with the LCI headlights. The only thing I have really noticed is that I hit the unlock button at night and it lit the AE on the car, is that it?

e90 vs e92 headlights are not the same as e90 vs e90 LCI headlights.

but e90 LCI and e92 headlights have cornering lights and also AE as DRL.

E90 LCI headlights have angel eyes that function as day-time running lights, whereas pre-LCI headlights have the inner bulb lit as the DRL's. Additionally, the E90 LCI headlights have LED blinkers whereas the pre-LCI have halogen-based bulbs. Lastly, E90 LCI headlights do not have a reflector built in to them (it's on the side of the front bumper, similar to the E92) whereas the pre-LCI does.

Does anyone know if BMW is still using the same crappy projectors and bulbs as Pre-LCI. Are we still using D1S bulbs?
