During a press conference at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Ola Kallenius, the head of Mercedes-AMG, announced two new Black Series models will be launched in the "very near future."

While he declined to elaborate, our spies have previously caught a C63 AMG Black Series undergoing testing in Europe. We were under the impression it was a mule for the Black Series coupe, but Kallenius' statement seems to imply that there will be also be a sedan variant.

Regardless, the car is expected to use a 6.3-liter (6208cc) V8 that has been modified to produce upwards of 510 hp (380 kW / 517 PS). It will be connected to a seven-speed MCT transmission, which should ensure the BMW M3 won't be resting on its laurels.

Besides talking about the Black Series, Kallenius mentioned that there are no immediate plans for a diesel-powered AMG and the division will focus on weight reduction before incorporating hybrid technology into their products. Lastly, the CEO indicated we could see A- and B-Class AMGs, but those models are still three to four years off.

What they should do is make a Black Series iteration of the E-class coupe. Fitted with the 5.5L V8 and 7-speed MCT, along with weight reduction, that car would be tough to beat.

The C63 BS is all but confirmed. I remember seeing spy pics on autoblog. That leaves the other car up to question. My guess is either a CLS63 BS or an SLS BS. I'm leaning towards the latter, as the CLS seems to compromised to make into a Black, and MB has already mentioned the idea of a Black SLS not too long ago. I might be able to find the source.

Correct , And I dont like the idea of a c class black just doesnt seem right with four doors and rear seats. I would perfer a E class coupe black based off the old clk black.

Could you imagine an S63 Black? Some kind of sinister-ass mega long sedan with huge fender flares, TT V8, MCT, etc? It would go against the Alpina B7. I'd spooge.

The C has more potential for better track performance than basically all of the other Benz models which are overweight pigs. The SL65 was a complete failure performance wise and for one reason: it's 500lbs heavier than it should be. The same could be said for anything bigger than the E Coupe. They can have massive amounts of power and torque, but that won't go anywhere when you've got 4.5k+ pounds of mass to tug.

For reference...
C63 AMG: 3950-4000lbs (BS models have been lighter, so I could imagine a C63 BS coming in at 3800)
CLK63 BS: 3900lbs
SL65 BS: 4350lbs

The S65 isn't a competitor to the B7. It's $80,000 more expensive. Its real competitor, the S63, is only $10k more, and has very similar stats.

I was pointing out why it's not feasible for Mercedes to build a Black Series S63 AMG.

You have to take into account that BS cars cost a lot more than the regular AMG models.

Regular SL65 AMG's MSRP is $200k and Black Series SL65 AMG's MSRP is $300k.
Regular CLK63(Vert) AMG's MSRP was $90k and Black Series CLK63 (coupe) AMG was $135k.

Both saw a 50% increase in price for Black series models.

So if they made the S63 AMG Black series, the price would be around similar range as the S65 AMG. There would be no point to build a BS S63 AMG.

Maybe it will be another SLK Black as a followup to the SLK55 Black, but this time with the new turbo engine in the next gen SLK.

To the chick car comment about the SLK above, this is FAR from a chick car, and 18-24 year old asian girls LOVE e90/e92s too.
