Car suggestions?
This car is for somebody else, a family member. He was thinking about getting a bare bones 328i sedan or a TSX V6 as they are both in very similar price range..
I love BMW's and I drive one myself, but the TSX V6 has some enticing features and the power to go with it. BMW.. well its BMW (as I'm sure you guys all love too, this being a BMW forum) I love the euro feel, make, and quality of my ride. That being said, the car in question is not my ride, its a bare bones 328i.. what do you guys think? Feel free to list other potential automatic sedans in the 30-40 range. (The non SH-AWD TL is also an option, if he feels that the TSX V6 is too small for his needs)

I guess a question is are you looking for new only? Also, are there any specific attributes that the person "needs" to have... brand, luxury, performance, drive wheels, etc.?
A bare-bones 328i with sport package should be a fun car. I had the 128i sport and was very happy with it. Some options new: - Subaru Legacy GT (though I am not a fan of the new body style) - Infiniti G37 is nice - Cadillac CTS have pretty good reviews - Audi A4 (though I would probably take the BMW over it) - Hyundai Genesis sedan There honestly don't seem to be too many exciting sedans in the 30-40k range if you exclude manual transmissions. If a manual is ok, then I would also add: - 2011 Subaru WRX STi sedan

He's not looking for a particularly exciting car. He is getting married in Spring so he has to keep a sedan and possibly a future child in mind. I think he is also looking for a new ride, reliability is also a concern.. his 99civic is not cutting it anymore.. His fiance doesn't drive manual and probably has no interest in learning which is why I've added automatic and sedan as requirements.
Brand, luxury, performance and drive wheels aren't all extremely strict. Good suggestions though, thanks for the input.

Do they really care about how the car drives or do they just want comfortable transportation? If they just want comfort, then there are probably a lot of more cost effective options out there. The only reason I would buy a stripped 328i is if I could find nothing else that handled as well and that was the most important issue.
