BMW Performance Exhaust Tip Replacement Options

...figured id ask more specifically. Has anyone here changed the tips on their BMW PE?

i dont 'mind' the tips that came with the PE but to be honest i liked the thicker walled brushed stock ones better. I dont totally object to the stainless because it matches the rest of the stainless trim on the car... that said... i do wish the pipes had a wall to them...

Is it possible to change the tips without changing the sound of the exhaust? I would assume as long as inside diameter is the same then it would be good to go. with that, there's probably not much room left in the bumper cut out though prob just answered my own question...

you can put whatever tips you'd like and retain the sound.

its not like installing hushkits on a 727

lol! thats what i was thinking could happen, poof no sound

say the inside diameter is smaller than what it came with, that would be bad right? its not like i can just go have them slap the stock tips back on... not a good idea right? then the dynamics of things are changing...

the ID of the tips are the same i think, so if you want to sacrifice the diameter of the PE tips, i would assume it can be a straight cut/weld swap

I did not like my tips at first but they grew on me after a few days. They also stick out too much so I have them cut at the muffer and shortened. I have pics of this on the forum.

I had them moved in as well and I'm totally okay with them but they just don't set my world on fire. I think the stock ID is def smaller than the tip of the PE.
