grateful to see angel eyes
Was driving back to school in Cali today and ~200ft ahead of me someone swerves into the car ahead and to the left of them, clips the bumper and then bounces back into the car in right lane. The clipped car swings around right then back left into median. Something else happened too so that it was a 4 car accident. Fortunately it looked like everyone was ok.
Anyways the point is I slammed on my brakes and immediately looked in my rear view mirror to see if I was gonna get hit from behind and I was relieved to see the telltale angel eyes and vented hood of a e92 m3. Be it naive and biased or not thinking the brakes of an m3 are that much better than an average car I thought it was interesting that this thought came to me so quickly. He/she and I got past the accident 3rd and 2nd respectively. Was a pretty scary couple of moments.

You know it's weird... around here, people who drive M3s, AMG cars, and other luxury/performance rides drive like grannies. People who drive in shitty rusted Hondas (which you know has the worst brakes because they can't afford to get new pads usually) from the 80s are the ones that seem to tail gate the most from what I've seen...
Glad to hear your car's okay op. |

I agree with how well the brakes work on BMW's. Accident averted.

my wife called me the other day saying that if she had been in her old prius she would have just got in an accident. +1 for good brakes.
i suppose i drive my car like a grandma, but i live in a city where everyone gets pulled over a lot. but i got for a lot of canyon cruises and get on the track when i want to run hard.

its the shitty POS cars that are the ones that dont care... when i drive my e92 i stay away from people as much as possible. but then you got a kid in a 98 civic with a fart cannon or a newer scion flying around playing fast and furious in traffic.

My BMW's brakes have saved me several times without ABS.
I relied on ABS with my old Acura TL. |
