reduced engine power
in the last 3 or 4 months, I've had 2 reduced engine power messages in my 335i. before you say HPFP, let me say this: no long cranks, no sluggishness, no bouncing rpms. I had my HPFP replaced at about 56k miles for the first and only time. the weird thing is, once i turn the car off and then back on, everything is fine and no reduced engine power light. one of the times it happened was in Mammoth, CA where the car was parked outside in the snow at about 9 degree weather in the night.
any ideas what it could be? I know the HPFP is still plausible, but when my HPFP failed before the reduced engine power indicator would turn on every time i started the car.

Make sure your battery has a good charge in it. I got the reduced power light (half engine light) twice, and when I took it in they said that my battery had like no power left in it, most likely from listening to music while vacuuming out my car. Just a though

I had the same thing happen and the dealership said the codes they pulled were HPFP and they ended up replacing it....

I have the same issue, twice in the last week and I just got a new battery installed (week ago) for other reason. I have never had the HPFP replaced. I guess I'll find out Monday at the dealer.

Get the codes pulled, it's the only way to know. I had one of these, never came back, but turned out to be collapsed vacuum lines to the turbo waste-gates. Service rep says it's not uncommon. Both lines were replaced under warranty. Vanos solenoid out of spec can also cause intermittent 1/2 engine lights.
