How to replace seatbelt assist

Hi guys,

My seatbelt assist has been acting up the past few weeks and yesterday was one of those days that it didn't work, i reached back and grabbed the belt and heard something snap ._. Now the arm doesn't retract fully, it stops right before the "grabber" folds in

Anyone know how to disassemble it so i can check what might be broken? Since my warranty is out it feels like a expensive fix if its something i can just replace myself.

I think I saw the other day that the replacements parts for this were cheap (the extender arm itself). I think like 60 bucks but I could be wrong. I'd contact Evan @ Tischer with your VIN handy and see what parts you need. Might be an easy swap!

Reviving old thread..

So did anyone manage to get an answer? My driver's side arm is beginning to slip 80% of the time.. i don't know if the straightening iron trick with the actual belt will make things better..

Does anyone have a DIY or How-to on actually replacing the entire arm? (not the fuse DIY)
It would be awesome if someone could share.. i think sooner or later I would need to buy the parts and replace the driver's arm.

The best fix I have seem to find is to pull the damn fuse and not use them. You will get used to reaching back in a couple of days.
