Third-party or dealer windshield replacement?

When I got my car my rain sensor was fantastic, I loved it. After getting a replacement windshield from a third party (Glassmax, ~$500) a few months ago it was pretty much useless. Today a rock cracked my windshield (again, F-PA roads) so I was thinking of going to the dealer to get it replaced in hopes of the rain sensor working again.

Anyone have any thoughts on that? I realize it will probably be like twice as much for the dealer, but I think it might be worth it to have the rain sensor back.

I've been through this. You've got to argue with your insurance company to stick with the OEM glass for the rain sensor to work. Sometimes they make you cover the difference between the BMW glass and the generic brands since the generic is all they will write for.
