What have you set the programmable steering wheel buttons on?

Had my BMW for a month, and was curious what this group uses them for.

Audio source and audio mute. I always hated reaching down to hit the volume knob to mute the sound when I didn't have a BT phone. It's also handy when you want to mute in general without having to reach down to the knob.

It is, but it's a hidden feature. You have to find the right secret page of the manual and then fold it like a Mad magazine fold-in. Then the secret instructions are revealed!

Owner's Manual Easter Eggs! - how cool would that be!

BTW Steve - I think I am week 10 also. Maybe our babies will share a boat ride.

Do the owner's manual fold-in. One of the options is "Afterburner".

Salesguy set it to PhoneBook + NextAudioSource at delivery.

I don't use PhoneBook -- easier to poke the voice button and say, "Call Flintstone, Fred".

NextAudioSource ends up blasting me out to AM (YECH!) or FM (barely tolerable), and it's sequential. I'm a random access kinda guy, so poking the voice button and saying "CD1" (for iPod) or "Satellite presets" makes more sense (to me).

So...

I reset one button to put the nav in shut-up mode (handy as hell when you're on a phone call and Miss Mouth starts yelling directions at you while you're trying to talk to somebody else)

I haven't figured out what to do for the other one yet.

I don't have BMW NAV (yet) but my Garmin does that to me too. That sounds like a good idea for use of a button! Made me laugh too!

Do you have Fred Flintstone's number? I used to have it but lost it, and he never calls anymore. I'll trade you Elmer Fudd's number for it, he just rambles on an on about some wascawy wabbit.

Sorry, I can't put it on here. It's an unpublished number, and I'd hate to wake up to a pile of dinosaur poo outside my garage if I disclosed it.
