Auto Insurance?
I am considering switching to another auto-insurance company. Any recommendations? I live in California. (NorCal)

Wawanesa other then that, I think AAA is good, I strongly discourage 21st century and Mercury. I used to work for 21st and I had a chance to see the bad stuff behind the scene. From what I've heard Mercury is pretty bad in terms of customer service but they're usually a bit cheaper.

I have progressive and it costs more for a year of insurance than my car cost.

Have you turned 25 yet? That seems kind of a lot being that girls normally have cheaper insurance than guys. My insurance went down like $100 bucks/mo when I turned 25 but my dumb ass had an accident at the same time which caused it to go right back up.

$1200/year for my 330i with AIG. Don't know if they are good because
thank God I haven't used them yet. All I know is that they are a big company and the only one who would recognise my european driver's license and clean record there and didn't try to skin me so much since when I purchased the car a year ago I just had my US driver's license and didn't have prior US insurance history. |

About $700 per year with Farmers Insurance. No accidents or tickets. No claims except a few years ago a windshield replacement due to vandalism (never park on the street overnight). You get discounts when you stay with them for years and insure your house with them. Also if you have great credit.

P.S. Since I got my lics in California I can only verify the above for CA, other states might be different (such as No-fault state)

I just started calling places to get quotes.
I talked to State Farm yesterday. $940/6 mnths on my own title, $200 less if I put my dad as a secondary driver. Which my dad doesn't want me to do. 25 years old, 1 ticket and 1 minor accident. I called a local guy last week, but he never got back to me so I'm gonna have to hammer him tomorrow or next week. He has a very strong recommendation from a local talk show host, so I'm not very happy about not receiving feedback. |
