possible hpfp failure

Just wanted to get some advice I was driving on the highway when i wanted to see what my car had haven't got on it in a while i have JB3 and dci map 3 i punch it and i get a engine malfunction notice and lose half power. I pull over and start back up and drive like normal then try again and same thing Engine malfunction reduced power. does this mean it threw a code? if so should i buy a bt scan tool to clear it. Does it sound like the hpfp is going out? or could it be something else

Could be hpfp. Could be caused by the JB3. Honestly, my pump failures didn't come when I got on the gas, they came at or shortly after startup, but I know others have had issues when already at speed.

Take the thing out and see if you can replicate the behavior maybe?

Yes, codes were thrown. It might actually help to know what they were.

I agree, but I'm not modded. Issues just happened upon startup, not necessarily under any load....even at stoplights, just shut off. Crazy a 2007 car could have left the factory like that, huh? Though many downplay it...

I had a JB3 and DCI and had the same issue after having my HPFP replace a few months before. I took them both out and the car runs fine even 6 months later. I still debate if I should put the JB3 back in cuz I dont feel like worrying about my car dying out. I love the speed but more worried about the effects on my car.

No, it doesn't sound like HPFP. Usually, if your HPFP fails during hard acceleration, SES lights up too...along with lots of vibration. This sounds similar to an issue I had that was resolved by replacing the VANOS Solenoids.
