Adaptive lightning

Hey.

On my E90 I have Adaptive lightning, but I can't say i really can see the difference from my Audi without adaptive lightning... When i turn my steering wheel I really don't see the the lighting "changing direction". Do I have to activate this or something? I dont have any faults in the "check vehicle"

and if you didnt know the lights dont turn a lot righht to left. there's a cornering light (in the inboard angel eye) which turns on when you corner. it points to the inside of the turn when lit. so if you look at the front of your car with the wheel turned to the driver's right it looks something like this: (• being an off lamp and ( ) being the angel eye)

It should be obvious that they turn, especially when you're stationary. If you turn an extreme amount, there is an additional light that turns on almost sideways into the direction of the turn, like the other posters have mentioned. At least this is in the 2011 version.

It's pretty cool actually.

If you don't see a difference in the auto setting, I would take it in to the dealer to check it out.

And what are rear fog lights, and how did you add them?? (pics if possible please)

just go down a regular dark road and subtly turn your wheel 20 degrees in either direction a few times, you'll see them move.

The cornering light doesn't do all they say above. It provides a little bit of light, but the adaptive lights do turn a good 10º

Adaptive headlights are awesome imo. Where i live there are no street lights... you aren't even allowed to park on the street... I see my headlights move everytime i adjust my steering... Def helps a lot when you make turns as there are always critters wondering around the neighborhood late at night. LOL

Rear Fog light mod is as super easy as they come. You can either buy the new switch ( and get the light and the logo on it) or mod the old switch for cheaper. Fog lights are already on the car you just don't have the switch to activate them in the US. There are tons of threads on this if you search. All with pictures and instructions. I just bought the new switch and replaced it.

Ah thanks for the pics. So I guess they're basically just the adaptive break lights that you can turn permanently on...interesting.

break lights? I break lights all the time.. Now I´m going to go brake something..

We get rear fogs as standard on our cars here in the EU, too bad you guys dont.

I wonder if you could reprogram the LCM to light the rear fogs together with the brakelights when you brake really hard (EG: ABS active = all red lights in rear light up)
