System Failure - multi warning indicators on

I went to start my car today and when I put hit the start button multiple warning lights came on. The windshield wipers came on and could not be stopped. The transmission would only go into gear after putting it in reverse and would not shift properly. (limp mode?). Car is being towed to dealer. Hope this is not a sign of things to come. Car is a 2010 328i E90. Any ideas as to what happened?

Garage List
Sounds like you flipped harnesses when installing a tune (small connector harnesses that go to the ECU) has the same exact issues. Windshield wipers was the give away.

Do you think you might have a bad battery?

Battery is fine. I must of started the car 10 times trying to get the warning lights to go off. I was then on BMW Assist call for 30 minutes while they arranged for a truck to pick up the car. I still had enough power after that for the 4 way flashers and a few more engine starts. It looks to me to be a ECU failure. The great BMW Assist would pay for the toe truck but left me stranded at 11:30 pm. I would have to pay for a cab. Thank you BMW.

Dealer just called. The problem is a "JBE Module" which the SA said is a junction box electronic
