328 residuals
My lease is up in a little under two months. I've contacted nearly every dealer surrounding Philly and none of them will budge on the price ... 29,350 on car with original MSRP of 47,250. I'm 14,000 miles under mileage allowance which I know is pumping up the value. Edmunds TMV seems to back this up. Only flexible margin I'm working with, it seems, is the cost to CPO.
Are others experiencing this? Have the 328 coupes (and sedans) just held on to their value this strongly? I see a lot of 2007 and 2008 335's CPO'd for about $30k with 30k miles. I'm looking at 2006 330s as an alternative. Lots in the low 20's and high teens, although not equipped quite like I want. Cheers.

I bought a loaded 2009 CPOed 328i xDrive e90 with 4k miles on it for about that price. It was literally brand new.... If they don't budge on that price, then I'd look elsewhere.

I would just turn it in and lease a new one. Buying off your lease is only good if they are willing to sell for a lot less than the residual, otherwise continue to lease.
I don't know if BMW still has this "pull forward" program, if so you can turn your lease in three months earlier without penalty and not having to pay the last few lease payments, of course the catch is you have to lease a new BMW and stay with them. |

I got attached to my 08 e90 and wanted to keep it. The price they quoted me to buy-out was a joke. (Monthly payment was much higher than I was currently paying.) Then you have to add CPO on top of that. Hassle. Was able to do holiday credit + 3 month pull ahead program. My monthly payment went down and I got a new e90

Did your dealer confirm the pull forward progarm ended on 1/3 or was it just bluffing? In any case you got a great deal and everything seemed to work out, congrats again! |

Seems I might have to part with my car, though I hate to ... no dealers in the area will budge, and several have stated that BMWFS is not playing ball, indicating the residual is close to the market value.
I can understand my dealer trying to take advantage of a willing buyer, but dealers who have a chance to book a sale with a mere phone call have no reason to inflate their margin, especially when they know they are competing with each other. CPO incentives aren't even that attractive right now ... 2.9% APR. Bush league. Can you expand on the pull-ahead? I have only one payment left and one dealer HAS stated it would be waived, but has anyone had a retro-active "pull-ahead", getting a previous (or two) payment forgiven? Can't hurt to ask... Oh well...there are worse things in the world.

I don't think so. The pull ahead deal benefits those who will go over the mileage at the lease return, more so than you. If the dealer told you they could waive your last payment, then the pull ahead program is likely still available.

Thanks dtc! Dealer confirmed pull ahead program ended on 1/3.
OP: I dont think you can do a retroactive pull ahead. Never hurts to ask. Depends how they wantto deal. I was 10k miles below alloted lease miles, which sucked, but they still did the program for me. It is true that 328s have excellent resale value. They got a sick CPO out of my 08 e90. Bush league, lol. Do you like your car enough to pay their buy out price? If so, it's worth the price. If not, you should look into a new one. That's what I did : )

Paying off a lease at residual is not a good idea no matter how much you love the car, should have bought it in the first place. If the OP loves his 328i, he should be able to love again |
