Disconnecting fuel injectors

What's the best way to disconnect the plug strip going to the fuel injectors?

I need to remove the wiring strip so I can get the valve cover off the car, the documentation says to just pull up, which I tried, but it doesn't seem to want to release. I don't want to accidentally break the fuel injectors.

Thanks!
