More money than Trump if you need to do EVERYTHING! Just buy an "M" or let us know what areas you are looking to improve. Some areas are easy. GL

Mostly just money. The best way to do that is to trade your 07 for an M.

Functional equivalent?
Quaife LSD AST 4100 w/swift Downpipes Intercooler BMW Perf engine package Tune Forged wheels -- 18 lbs per. Yoko Advan NE08 non rfts M3 bushings, control arms, sways M steering wheel, knob, etc. $5k leftover to invest in BMW Gmbh stock, so that you can get the real thing next time.

OP, though your idea is novel and has theoretical appeal, practically speaking, it'd cost you more to covert -- both in time, money and headaches (during as well as after the conversion) -- than it would to buy an M.
That said, if it's just something you want to do for the sake of doing it, by all means, give it a shot and keep us apprised of your progress and outcome. I'm sure everyone, even those who've chided you in this thread, would be interested to see how it goes and whatnot... Best of luck in whatever you decide.
