Thoughts/Help with next car.
The more I look at new cars, the more I feel my 335i coupe/sports/6mt was the correct choice. My car is three years old and I always thought I would get a new car in Jan. 2012. I went to the North American Auto Show looking, hoping, for something to give me the feeling of the 3 coupe when it first arrived. Help me out here.
1. 1M I am not feeling it, after seeing it in person. (this is why I went to the show) 2. Boss 302 I can admire when someone else owns it. (not for me) 3. Pre owned 911. I drove one yesterday. Bike cannot go inside. 4. Pre owned 335is / M3 my wife cannot tell them from my car. future 1. F22 / F32 when will these redesigned coupes be available in the USA. 2. Redesigned RX 9, may never happen 3. Golf R 4. C7 I am prepared to keep my car w/o buying the extended maintenance or extended warranty until something says buy me. Only mods ssk/ no run flats. My adult son stated it will be very hard to replace my car, it is the perfect package of looks, handling, performance, and utility. (bike is always in the trunk.) Thanks in advance for your thoughts. |

Are you looking for a DD or a 2nd car? I don't really like muscle cars but that Boss 302 is nice. I wouldn't recommend another E90, IMHO if your gonna spend the $$$ get something that is substantially different.
1. F32 2. 911 (not as DD though) 3. VW GTI (probably too much of a step down, but I like it better than the Golf) 3. Boss 302 |

Just be patient and wait for the F32 M3. I have a feeling you're gonna like that one.

Dont kill me..
Is this to big if a change?
Don't kill me, but have you considered a Subaru STI WRX? All wheel drive, fair daily driver, and room for a bike! Plus, you can have some serious fun with it in the snow, dirt, mud, or asphalt! Consider it man! P.S. - I like the new hatchbacks the most. |

I looked at the STI at the auto show and was impressed. But I was leaning toward the Golf R (won car of the year in Top Gear) and coming to us in the spring.

I am a big fan of the 911's but doesn't sound like this is the right option for you unless you can fit the bike in the trunk Good luck on your quest.

The VW Golf R is most defiantly going to be one heck of a machine.. But to me(personal opinion) I find that the golf r will be a tuner car. Don't get me wrong, great car and nice to have a VW with AWD. I just think you coming from a BMW 335, it will be too much of a down grade.
The Subaru STI has some serious power and you have unlimited possibilities. And you are also introduced to a new form of racing! Rally Car Racing!! Finally, I find the Subura more of a higher class car than a VW. And I'm scared you will get tired of it.. But I don't know anything! I'm not you! My advice; test drive both cars and goneith your gut! |

M3 if you need practicality. Cayman S if you don't. I had a Cayman S on order and was forced to cancel because I may need the back seats in the long run.

I am leaning toward the F32, then the F22, both in the M version. BUT WHEN? |

You are looking at least 3 years out for the M versions.

Keep the 335 and wait for the next m3. If you need to keep the 335 feeling new, do some performance mods over the next year or 2. My car will be 4 years old in 3 months (17000 miles) and with the modifications I still feel like it is a new car (I don't drive mine daily though).

Thank you gentlemen.
Although I did love the 911, my bike (Cervelo) is my first love. Also one of my favorite cars of all time is the 1976 BMW 2002. So................ I am hoping the new F22 (2 series) would go retro and capture that moment in time for me. turbo 4/6mt/light and tossable Or I am hoping the new F32 stirs my sole and keeps me up awake, the same feeling when I bought the 335i coupe. There were some really good suggestions here. I think I will look in the mod section for exhaust, and dream about the F22 or F32 and wait. Am I now officially a fanboy? Thanks for you time. |

Keep your car and get the extended warranty. The 335 is the first possession that I've ever bought an extended warranty on. If your 335 drives fine, there's no reason to replace it. If you have a lot of money, disregard what I've said and get a new car whenever you want.

If your car has been reliable and you are good on the maintenance, I would keep it until the next M3. That's what I am trying to do!
