335ci In Service After 5 Days

After waiting for the car for 3.5 months I finally picked up my Space Gray 335i Coupe 5 days ago. It was a damn blast I loved it.

Last night I smelled gas in my garage. I moved my car to see if the car was leaking gas anywhere but couldn't find anything so I just left it as is.

I smelled the gas again in the morning so I decided to take it in and the service tech said yeah there's a problem we'll have to find out what it is. They gave me an e90 328 and said that they'll have to keep my car in till Fri if not longer.

I'm already missing the 335 lol hate this BS.

Anyone else have a similar problem? Could it be the fuel pump I've been hearing about. I didn't have any engine lights on.

I don't want to look like an arse, but it's a "335i" that you drive. That really sucks though, mine should be here soon and I would hate it if that happens to me.

That's exactly the reason I call it a ci

Was the car driving poorly? It could really be a lot of things, loose seal, cracked fuel piping... it might be an easy fix, cross your fingers. Which dealership did you take it into?

Hmmm...it sounds like a cracked fuel pipe or loose connection...good luck waiting on the repair. Now that you have tasted the "power" of that e92, you will most likely feel like crap until you get it back. I hope it is not a fuel pump!!!

I didn't notice a big difference in loose of power since I noticed the smell but I could swear I noticed a small difference in power. I took it into BMW Of Mississauga.

I'll update the post as soon as I find out what it is. I hope it's not the fuel pump as I'm sure they don't stock those.

I don't think anyone stocks them, it'd be an ordered part. I don't know if anyone else with the fuel pump problem has reported smelling gas though. They have a decent service dept, I am sure they'll take care of you. Remember to tell them not to wash it.

Don't worry about it, my CA wrote 335Ci on my paperwork to distinguish it as a coupe.

Hope you get your car straightened out...I don't think I've had any problems with mine but it gets driven about once every 8 days so I'm a bit concerned that it hasn't been driven enough to discover a problem. I did hear a strange whine from the fuel system and I thought here we go.....the whine, ticking, I'd like to think it's just normal. Good luck.

Besides the sheer horror of letting anybody but a detailer wash your car... BMW Mississauga uses an automated soft-cloth wash

The only time the dealership gets to wash my car is for the PDI.

I've been reading up on the fuel pump issues allot of the 335i guys have had and noticed the same thing that picus said, none of you guys reported smelling gas in the car through the vents.

I did notice my car crank for about 3 or 4 seconds twice since the problem began, how long did some of your cars crank for before turning on prior to the car not being drivable?

Thanks for all the help guys

Good news it wasn't a fuel pump. A fuel line was loose that was leading into the fuel pump so a few drops of gas dropped or some bs like that.

I'm going to pick her up now
