335i 2011 vs 2012
Hi ya'll,
In the market for a new car, I want to get it customized and then shipped over here, but I'm having some trouble. Seems they stopped customizing the 2011 and my best bet is the new 2012, but I'm always sceptical about going for the first model of the new series... what do you guys think? what would you do? Thanks, InterBMW |

I'm confused as well. It doesn't make sense that in February they would not order a car for you.
You should know that the newest (F30) version of the 3 series will not be available until the fall of 2012 as a 2013 model. |

Sounds like a dealer wants to convince you to buy off the lot. It's nonsense that dealers can no longer order 2011 3 series. Now it may be the dealer you spoke with has sold out of it's allocation but the factory is still taking orders.. Find another dealer if you want to BTO.

Look at the first year 335i. Hpfp failures still affect n55's today.
As for other small things, you have a 4 year warranty which will update you with any problems that get "fixed" in the later years. I'd say its safe to get a first year car, not to mention how fun and exciting it is. |

New series is only being revealed at the end of 2011, so you're not getting the first year of a new series - you'd be getting the last year of the current cycle.

I talked to a local dealer here and they are accepting customized orders. They said that they have not heard about the factory not taking orders. Any customer customized vehicle on BMWNA's website can be ordered.
