So I guess those of us who have been around don't know engine temps versus those that just joined? Why do you think the mods created the button? Exactly!

I like my MPG indicator but if I had the choice would prefer a temp guage. Silly me I used to fly airplanes and the coolant temp guage gave you a lot of useful information (ok, it was an air-cooled engine though haha)

Normal for a 335i.
Other manufacturers of turbocharged cars seem to leave the numbers off the gauges, possibly for this reason. As far as I know, there have been no posts from 335i owners in Australia or South Africa (where it's been summer) that indicate that there are any real problems with overheating. |

Normal. 230-240 seems to be standard operating temp. DI engines with lean burn work at higher operating temps.

i got my car yesterday and the drive home from the dealer is about 90 miles (interstate). It was a cool day (about 35F) and what I found was interesting was the engine ran warmer when it was in cruise at 70mph than when I was varying speeds and pushing the car a bit. I think I remember reading somewhere the engine management system keeps the engine warmest at "steady state" conditions for lowest emissions and max fuel economy.
