same thing I thought when I drove mine hard a few times.. it seems to go a bit higher if you drive it hard, the way it likes it.

So I guess those of us who have been around don't know engine temps versus those that just joined? Why do you think the mods created the button? Exactly!

I like my MPG indicator but if I had the choice would prefer a temp guage. Silly me I used to fly airplanes and the coolant temp guage gave you a lot of useful information (ok, it was an air-cooled engine though haha)

Normal for a 335i.

Other manufacturers of turbocharged cars seem to leave the numbers off the gauges, possibly for this reason.

As far as I know, there have been no posts from 335i owners in Australia or South Africa (where it's been summer) that indicate that there are any real problems with overheating.

Like people have stated, normal. I get to that range too and I don't pass 4k rpm since the car is still being broken in.

Normal. 230-240 seems to be standard operating temp. DI engines with lean burn work at higher operating temps.

i got my car yesterday and the drive home from the dealer is about 90 miles (interstate). It was a cool day (about 35F) and what I found was interesting was the engine ran warmer when it was in cruise at 70mph than when I was varying speeds and pushing the car a bit. I think I remember reading somewhere the engine management system keeps the engine warmest at "steady state" conditions for lowest emissions and max fuel economy.
