I was going to say maybe it's some ice from the last storm in the NE, but I see you're in FL...Take it to the dealer and have it checked out.

Probably dropped some change or a pen back there in the vents. Did that before a few years back.
Still....take it to a dealer.

update:
went to dealer and scheduled service appointment for tomorrow @ 745am. SA thinks something may have come loos einside the dashboard or something. or that the chassis might be flexing (the rattle only occurs when i go over uneven surfaces) and if chassis flex is the case i might get a free strut bar |

ok, so i took the car in today, and what ended up happening is that the OEM strut boar (the one that comes with the car and connects to the firewall) had come loose at the firewall. so the tech tightened it up and no more rattle

break out the superglue. just think how much better you'll feel when you fix it yourself at home instead of having the professionals at bmw do it for you.

I have a rattle too. Im the drivers side. When I go through cracked or bumpy roads. It sounds like a clunking clunk clunkclunk rattle, that repeats really fast. And also when my car is dirty, and I go through uneven surfaces i hear the creaking sound. As if the chassis was flexing.
