My Muffler Delete (With Video)

It seems like a lot of people are scared to really rev their cars in video like they are worried about pissing neighbors off and such. Fortunately for me, I'm only gonna be in my apartment for another 30 days give or take so I don't give a damn what they think.

I'll post up rolling video and that sort of thing probably tomorrow since I'm running around on the bike today trying to resist the urge to fill the car up with gas. But for now here's the driveway. I've spent a total of $160 on exhaust related work just for those of you that are curious ($80 for delete+piping+cheapo tips, $80 for new kick ass tip and install).

I think by far this is the best sounding delete I've run across thus far on the web without doing a res delete, cat delete, or headers. Thank god it's my car making the noise.

Recorded with an Insignia Digital Cam in HD.

If you're concerned with drone, there really isn't any at all on the highway. It'll get your attention when I step on the go go pedal though.

OP has a manual so it will drone less than an AT. It is good sound for the money though. Nice vid!

Can't beat it, love the popping sound as you let off the gas, sounds amazing when downshifting...drive through the city and listen to it echo off of the buildings

I get a lot of compliments and people that are genuinely surprised when they think you have full exhaust...like my SA

Thanks guys. Like I said, Drone is pretty much non existent considering the amount of sound it chucks out now. The style of tip you use actually makes a hell of a difference in the tone too so be aware of that when you are selecting a tip.

The video is kind of deceiving because the amount of popping I get driving around is significantly louder than what you're hearing. I can't bring myself to delete the resonator because I love that sound coming off the revs. lol

I really hate to say it but I want to go louder. The thing is, I haven't even heard my car from outside so I have no idea how loud I really am. Video's aren't always the best way to judge noise level but I can already tell I'm gonna be getting complaints from my new neighbors when I move to the house.

Have a friend drive it up and down the street, or go to a non residential area on a weekend and have him go WOT as well as simulate other driving situations so you can hear what other people hear

you revved the engine to the 4000...if your going to go out of your way to explicitly state that you don't give a ---- how hard you race the engine at least enter the 7000 range.

Well if you are going to go louder, don't delete the res. I thought the same thing and had my muffler shop do it, it sounds like straight up ass. MD is just perfect in my opinion.

Wow, congrats on your amazing conclusion of where I revved my engine to. If I wanted to ping my motor off the redline I would have done it while driving so as not to blow out the microphone on my video camera pal.

So,

True. I have yet to hear straight pipes on the N52 not sound like $hit. I'm spending money on the bike for the next couple months for saddle bags and such. Probably invest in MMW headers down the road and have Andrew from Ar Design install them since he's local.
