I now expect to see a Flexi-wing on McLaren within 4 races.

Old news, McLaren people have been saying this since last year...
FIA imposed more loading and stricter testing of front wing, and yet both RB6 and RB7 passed scrutineering at any point of the season. Don't blame FIA or RBR cheating. Its just you've developed a slower car than RBR...

I dont think what Hamilton said was all that bad, he said if its illegal than it needs to be addressed and if its legal then they need to copy it
pretty sure everyone was thinking the same thing |

Sounds like a genius bit of kit to me.

Last year they tried to copy RBR's blown diffusor in German and British GP, but only tested on Friday and didn't work as they wish. And in the season beginning they were chasing ghost on the "active suspension" that they claim RBR has.

Just something I came across while watching The Flying Lap. I'll limit my commentary to just note that the car is not braking in this picture. The DRS is still active and that wing looks low.

Given that pass FIA's pre-race and post-race scrutineering, and if it indeed gives like 0.5 sec advantage. Then its a brilliant design.

It's probably illegal, F1 is full of finding hoplessly complex solutions to cheat. This would be very very expected.

If RBR used some material/design that the wing remains rigid during static test, but flex once there's dynamic wind load. Then its a brilliant design and technically did NOT violate any rules, but the spirit of the regulation.

Lets also not forget that even though they did double the test weight, they also doubled the acceptable deflection range.

Also, most recent speculation is saying that the nose itself also deflects down resulting in the entire front wing tilting more.
The end plates in this video alone move an immense amount.

Anyhow, my point is, as long as it pass the FIA scruitneering, other teams should just STFU and start modifying their wings and do major upgrades. McLaren has been saying "Flexing wings" for almost a year....even if RBR has a flex-wing that passes FIA regulations. That means they're on the limit of technology that the regulation allows. And I don't think RB7 can win by just one single part that outstanding. The overall chassis and package is top notch all the time.
