Best Exhaust

I recently acquired a 2006 BMW 330i sedan. I was wandering what would the best exhaust be? I've searched alot of people like the BMW PE. But which puts out the most power with a tune? The supersprint is the only one I have found that is a complete system. I'm not looking to get a 335. I'm just trying to make the best of what I have. Anyhelp would really be appreciated.

Most hp your going to get from a complete exhaust for our cars is like 5 hp and maybe that's even pushing it. I suggest you just buy an exhaust which sounds best to you

Oh ok I have never had a BMW before. Last car i had for a while was an 06 s4 the 4.2. And i was just used to the damn near 20 gain i got from a complete exhuast and tune. So basically super sprint isn't worth it just get something thats like cat back?

In all honesty, you should buy an exhaust for the way it sounds, not the horsepower increase. As has been mentioned, an exhaust on a 6-cylinder engine is not going to give you much power, neither will chipping a naturally aspirated engine.

I am so damn confused on this topic. I mean my friend made crazy gains with a full catless exhaust and intake manifold and other parts on his s4 tuned by JHM. I guess i'm just new to this tuning thing. I mean this car is my DD I got it for very little. Just trying to figure out what i can do to maximize it i guess. I mean there are parts here and there. I have read on some posts intakes lose power then others say the gruppeM gains. So would like a gruppem intake with a dinan throttle body with a full exhaust and a hella tune be right? Not looking for incredible gains like with a v8 but just as much as i can get.(without buying another car lol)

I actually just read that tread timmy so the concensus was header back n aa tune for best gains rest is just personal preference. Also found were it says we can run up to a 75 shot safely guess that's best bang for buck . damns I wish I just had m3 money lol

If you want an extra kick and a nice sounding exhaust get a bms powerbox and the Bmw perfromance exhaust.. an intake if you chose and call it a day

Agreed with what everybody has already posted. You will not see a huge power gain on this car with any exhaust (unless you go the header / primary cat delete route $$$$). Base your decision on what you like the sound of and budget. I achieved the sound I wanted with an inexpensive muffler ($85) cheap 12" bottle style resonator and secondary cat delete.

Wow ya i'm starting to realize this will no were near be perfomance orientated so I think you guys are right. But now you made it harder OMG i love the way a few sound the BMW PE, the Eis...something, and I kinda like dinans subtle sounds too. But i'm guess perfomance wise the supersprint header back without the cats and it has a nice scream up top. Decisions lol.

Any other vids? Any info that you can give concerning the tips used for the muffler? It would also be very helpful if you had pics of the underbody to see how the muffler was installed since its a uiversal muffler used.

Greatly appreciated!

The Supersprint headers and test pipes (rather than high flow cats) should show some decent gains. Pair that with a tune, filters, and intake and you should be good. If you are serious about power, step up to a 335i.

JPOP,

All cars are not created equal when you talk about exhausts and tuning. Some have restrictive systems for packaging purposes that can be improved on, some ECU's run conservative timing and fuel maps that can be improved too.

Do a cat-back, enjoy the sound and drive that 330. It's a great car.

@atb09 yes I realize all are different and your right I think it would be best to just enjoy the car. I've just always tuned every vehicle i had keeps my mind focus on saving money on parts rather then other things a 23 year old soldier could possibly spend his money on. Thank you.
@ScorpianT ya thats what i thought. I'm just new to this whole beemer thing on the Audi forums no matter what car it was always trying to squeeze ever lil bit out of the engine. But ur right about the 335i thing I was looking at that but the whole HPFP S#@% kinda scares me this will be my first ride back when I get back from korea and i want something realiable but nice and on somewhat of a budget. Plus my wife loves it. We are actually going to try n save up for a used m6 or 997 carrerra S or cayman S down the road. Thanks for you insight
@Volasko dude the PE exhuast sounds really nice. I am still interested to hear what the supersprintheader back with cat deletes sounds like the only sound clip i found on here doesn't work.

It might be kind of hard to find a sound clip of the supersprint exhaust as it is pretty expensive and the only ones I have seen/heard were members in either europe or asia but it's usually on a different car i.e. 318d 320d so it sounds a little different.
