We are reporting LIVE from the 2011 New York International Autoshow (NYIAS)! The show has officially kicked off its media days and we can tell you already this show is better with more variety of cars on display then usually seen at the NYIAS.

BMW Press Conferences for the 2011 NYIAS and Intro to the N20 Turbo 4-cylinder Motor

The BMW NYIAS press conference this year was held 2 days earlier at BMW of Manhattan:

The 2011 BMW NYIAS Display

The BMW display was in its normal place with its typical hardwood floors and a wide array of vehicles on display. Of course, the really important vehicles on display at the BMW stand are:
New BMW 6 Series Coupe
New BMW ActiveE
BMW 1M Valencia Orange
BMW Z4 sDrive28i with the new TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine (N20)

BMW is also making this year's show a focal point for its push in electric vehicles and urban mobility, so there is of course the introduction of the new ActiveE as well as a multitude of workshops related to Electric Vehicles. It should be an interesting day!

Nice show. Too bad the one we have in Houston does not come close to being a major car show.

are this headlights a option? Why do the 6s from the Shangai Autoshow don't have these, they are both top of the line 650i's

What the hell is that thing on the 4-cylinder that looks like a turbo but has no exhaust manifold going to it?

They're an option in Europe, not sure about the US.

This is the full LED headlight, and it's an option here in Europe.

South--have you seen these in person? I was just wondering how much "brighter" they looked, compared to Xenons...

They are an option here in the US, on the 650i Coupe only for now. You must order both the M Sport Package on the Coupe and the 20" Upgraded Wheels in order to have the LED Headlights. I had a customer of mine order this car already and it should be interesting!

The BMW 650i Coupe which premiered at the Shanghai Autoshow had full LED option.

The BMW 6er Gran Coupe will have it's World Premiere at Next years Beijing Autoshow - Two years since the car was shown as a Concept in Beijing.

I am trying to like the new 6-series. I still think they dropped the ball on the design, especially the front end. But I guess I am asking too much for it to look as good as an Aston Martin.
