AUTO climate control and AC
According to the manual, "Pressing the AUTO button automatically switches on the cooling function." However I'm not seeing the cooling light come on when I put the climate control on AUTO? I tried this when the exterior temperature was at 70, and I set the desired temperature to 60, with AUTO program on. The cooling light did not come on, and the air coming out of the vents are not cooled. I left it like that for 5 minutes with no change. However, I can manually turn on the AC by hitting the cooling button, at which time the light on the cooling button (snowflake) comes on and the air coming out of the vents are cooled.
My question is: is this normal? Should I just hit the cooling button and leave it on like that? |

Hitting AUTO should turn the AC on by default. Maybe someone coded your car so it doesn't do this anymore. I kinda wish mine did, but I just hit the AC button after to turn it off.

I leave my car at 70 degrees year round. In the fall/winter/spring months I don't need the AC because the outside air is cool enough to cool the cabin without that extra help. I use the AC occasionally to get rid of smells from the outside, and to get rid of foggy windows. I'd rather hit the snowflake myself when I want the AC on.
