Car veers to the right

hi guys,

picked up a new 328i e90 and am really excited. but i do feel like the car veers to the right when the steering wheel is dead straight. i figured it might be the alignment so i pinged my ca. he said they can reset the alignment...but said that since the car is set with a camber it can make the car veer a bit.

so my question...sounds like this is normal based on what the dealer said? should i bother resetting or should i not worry about it?

thanks.

It should track straight. Check all the usual suspects before you pay for an alignment (tire pressure, road surface, etc.)

Are you on the stock 17" wheels or did you upgrade to 18"? The 18s definitely tramline more on some roads.

Having more negative camber does lead to a decrease in straightline stability; can lead to more tramlining than usual (coupled with larger rubber as well). Shouldn't be veering to one direction though.

Double-check your tire pressures, difference in pressure side-to-side can cause this, even just a small difference, especially in the front.

Your car should go straight. Make sure the road you're driving on isn't curved down, though, for rainwaters because that will make your car go right.

All US roads have "crown" in the road to direct water off the center of the roadway.

Also due to the design of our suspensions (McPherson), tram-lining is common.

Even if you car is within alignment specs, you'll still notice a bit of a pull to the right or left depending on what side of the road your on.
