Easy first mods? E92 335i
Looking for some easy/reversible/inexpensive first mods for my new daily driver 335i coupe.
Have a ZHP weighted shift knob coming in. Some matte black roundel overlays and some matte black kidney grills. Deciding on ECU path right now between AP, V5 and JB4 but what are some other ideas in the meantime? Thinking Burger Tuning $20 modified CDV valve, clear/smoked reflectors and some black 335i numbers? |

First of all, painted reflectors, not clear or smoked. Idea is to blend these away like the euro BMW bumpers that don't even have them.
black grills are good, M3 spoiler for trunk is good, modified roundels are not for me but pretty popular for some. Then get spacers. Some like tint also. Look up plasti-dip for the badges. I think it has become a popular way to go about blacking out badges because of the cost and reversible nature of it. As far as the tune goes, consult N54tuning.com or the FI subsection. Just keep in mind your car is an 07 and it could up your chances of premature wear on turbos and hpfp. Congrats on the new DD. |

Thanks Edward. I actually don't mind the reflectors, just don't like the orange sticking out like a sore thumb on the space grey. I'll check out the plasti-dip.

I would ditch the euro-rice stuff. It will make the car look tacky. I would recommend a flash tune (Cobb or GIAC) and trade in the run flat tyres for the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I would go with the OEM glossy black grill. It looks better than any of the aftermarket ones. And please leave the fuc*in roundels alone!

With Space Grey, you have to go color matched reflectors. I have BSM, and my smoked look fine to me, but it matches. The smoked will stick out on yours as will the clear. I personally don't like the colored because it looks out of place... but like I said, grey just won't work with it anything else. Also, I agree with the OEM Performance Grills, especially if you have M Sport with the shadowline trim. If you don't love tint, but don't mind it either, than I would get about a 35% all around or so, depending on state laws.
Also, like said before... ehhh to the roundels. And go for the golf tee mod until you get an exhaust!
