What is this cable (in engine bay of 335i)

Hello,
I am going in the morning to pick up a 335i private party and noticed a cord sticking out of the engine bay in kind of an odd area (right under what looks like the air filter box). I snapped a picture. Could someone tell me what it is, and if it is normal? What might it be used for? Thanks!

Temperature sensor, you'll see something similar on the other side which I believe is the air sensor. It's normal.

THAT IS the alarm switch wiring and you do not have an alarm. The wiring on the passenger side is a temp sensor.

It's the wire that leads to the Self-Destruct Button!
