Anyone running the 14815 Maganaflow Muffler with resonator and secondary cat delete?

^title^

Also would this setup cause a decrease in horsepower due to a loss of backpressure or would the primary cats and muffler provide enough backpressure? You can look straight through the magnaflow muffler, unlike our stock muffler that is pretty much a built in 90 degree angle.

I was going to get this muffler but then i realized that it will reduce power due to smaller piping..and thats gonna be f*ckin loud if you do that!! Just save up for a cat back exhaust...I am very low on budget and I was really on the edge of getting this muffler 14815 but it reduces power so I'm saving up for the performance exhaust..it will be worth it in the end!

If you do do all that it'll cost you:

Magnaflow 14815---150$-200$
Installation-----50$-100$
Remove resonator----80$-120$
Remove secondary cats---80$-100$

It'll cost you no less than 400$.
Just save up..go big or go home.

Actually I got the muffler on ebay for $140 and had a friend install it for free. I can also get the cats removed and resonator deleted for about $50. Also I believe that the inlet for the magnaflow was 2.5" so there is no real reduction in piping size. Even if there is a small reduction in pipng size, I think that going from our stock muffler to the magnaflow is alot less restrictive and would pretty much negate the change in pipe size.

E90/E92's have 2.25 piping after the headers so see if you can go with bigger piping all the way through like i did. You will lose a tiny tiny bit of low end torque but gain a lot in the middle and up top.

Yes. I have 2.5 inch piping from the headers back and no cats, no resonator, no muffler. I had them place a magna flow race muffler where the resonator used to be. Sounds amazing and i get compliments all day long on the set up. It's not horribly loud either. It's nice and deep till about 4k and then it gets slightly rasper think e46 M3 sound.

Hell yeah, looks like I'll be doing this mod soon then. Hopefully I notice a little increase in power as well as sound. Did you notice your exhaust getting any louder after your muffler was broken in a little bit?

I would think the same thing. A less restrictive exhaust might make up for a smaller pipe size. Plus you get a bit of weight reduction as well.

Well I never personally measured the piping from the resonator back but several shops told me it was 3" I've heard 2.75" 2.5" all different numbers. What I'm sure of is that the inlet for the 14815 is 2.25" so def decrease in pipe size. Also when you install this muffler you have to cut the old stock muffler off, create an almost 90degree bend pipe that will go into the Magnaflow muffler (more bends = loss in power). Also, when you look at the stock pipes they are all crushed around the bends, doesn't seem to be the best setup for flow. I think you would be better off buying a catback whether it be BMW PE or some other setup.

From the headers back to the resonator it's 2.25 and then from res to muffler it's 2.5. I did 2.5 all the way through. 3 is too big for n/a cars. That crushed piping was the main reason i decided to go with all new bigger piping.

I don't really have a videos of my set up but i'll try to get some soon.
