2012 Corvette Z06 Nurburgring
The new Z06 cuts off a big chunk of time off its previous lap and moves up to #9 on the Ring fastest laps times!
First the ZR1 hits #7 at Nurburgring then Corvette wins class at Le Mans and now the #9 run of the Z06. A good time for Corvette. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/06/23/2...-68-shaves-20/ Last edited by NYC6; 06-23-2011 at 06:49 PM.. |

You should listen to the C6.R's whenever you get the chance, if you haven't already. They drown out EVERYTHING.
It could've been a Corvette 1-2 at Le Mans this year... |

Not the car I cheered for when I went to Sebring but I have to admit they sounded ferocious when they shifted up which is what amazed me.

Pretty sure they said they are "available" on the car for those that really want to track the car.
Edit: I stand partially corrected: "The tires are available as part of the PDE High Performance package on the 2012 Corvette ZR1 and the Z07 Ultra Performance package on the Corvette Z06, and they're newly developed versions of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. Chevy describes them as "essentially street-legal versions of a racing tire." Intended for owners who take their car to the track, the new rubber reportedly helps boost lateral acceleration, shorten braking distances and ultimately trim lap times." |

well done GM!
just watched the video, that man can drive and that thing STICKS 1+ G on cornering on pretty much every corner. There were some sustained 1.4-1.7G turns!

The Z06 was a damn effective platform to begin with, making the Cup tires an option that most of the top performers on the list wear is late in coming but shows how much 'real' tires mean in these contests.
