When did BMW start building the '09 models...?

I've got an '09 328i with a build date 5/09. I am wondering if it is an early build or late build...where in the '09 models does a 05/09 build fall. Does anybody know when (month/year) they start making the '09 models...specifically the 328i?

I have a 07/08 and mine is an "09" officially. I thought mine was one of the first. pretty sure BMW starts their build years around july/aug, but I'll have to look at my car.

I took delivery of an 08 335xi Coupe in early August, just as the MY switch over was about to take place.

According to the ordering guides from 2009, depending on the configuration, production started in September or October 2008. Based on that I would say yours is right in the middle of the cycle.

BMW wasnt started until 1916, so I dont think they had any models in '09.

And I dont remember any back then either.

That is interesting. I thought the MY2009 models started production during 9/2008, as with every new model year that starts during September, or sometimes even March. Maybe it is different in Canada?
