Blackstone Oil Report on '06 330i
Just wanted to share this info with the forum. E90 + N52 engine w/ 48K miles. Have changed oil/filter via old school schedule every 6 - 7K with either BMW (dealer) or Mobil 1 0W-40 (self). I plan to DIY all future maint with BMW fluids only. Would like to see this engine go 200K+, hopefully a good start...Chef K

See Mike Miller's Old School BMW Maintenance Guide (email request to techtalk@roundel.org), which is really BMW's maint schedule for their cars prior to 4yr/50K program staring in late 90's (lifetime fluids and other nonsense). For more recent BMWs to run nicely well over 100K (with the odds in your favor), plan on:
oil/filter - 5 - 7.5K ATF/filter - 60K (stick - 30K) diff fluid - 30K coolant - 2 years brake fluid - 1 year power steering fluid - 30K fuel filter - 60K drive belt - 60K O2 sensor - 100 - 150K spark plugs - 60K if purchasing new, consider a 1,200mile break-in fluid change (E30s & E28s did 'em) on oil, tran & diff. if you only plan to lease or own < 100K, save your money and go with owner's manual & on board computer service intervals. |

100,000 miles for me would be just over 8 years. That's usually about the time I switch cars any way--I just get too bored with the car.

My car is at 149,500 miles. I've followed the CBS. Trans and diff oil at 75K Spark plugs and coolant at 95K. My car runs as good as the day I bought it. Could you tell me why this happened?

I tink it's like 25 bucks, they send you the test kit for free and u just pay for it when you send your oil back
